Drinkmalk Stanza/Aldiko Catalog Site - Now with Vitamin R!!

NOTE: You can ONLY download ebooks to your Ipod Touch/Iphone from this Stanza Catalog. You can't directly download books to your PC/Mac or anyother device, nor can you download books DIRECTLY from this website.

1 - Install "Stanza" from the App Store on your Iphone/Ipod Touch. It's Free and a very good ereader

2 - ON YOUR Iphone/Ipod Touch, click this link. This will automatically launch the Stanza Reader, and bring up a dialog to "Add Book Source" you may edit the "Name" block to whatever you want, but leave the "URL" block alone. Simply click "Save" in the upper-right corner.
Please note: if you have a Jailbroken device with Categories installed, Stanza may not automatically launch. To correct this, remove Stanza from inside the Category folder it is in.

3 - To access the drinkmalk catalog, open Stanza, go to the "Get Books" (first page that opens if a book is not loaded), then go to "Shared".

4 - Look in the Book Sources section and you should see the drinkmalk catalog listed, select that,

5 - Browse through the books, when you find the bok you want "click" it and in the top right-hand corner of he screen click "Download" button.

6 - Read and enjoy book.

Required version: Aldiko Book Reader 1.2.7 or later (http://www.aldiko.com)

1. Open Aldiko and select 'Download Books'
2. Press the 'Menu' button on the phone and choose 'Custom Catalogs'
3. On the Custom Catalogs screen choose 'Add a catalog'
4. On the 'Add a Catalog' Dialog, enter a name for the catalog, the URL 'http://www.drinkmalk.com/books/list.xml', and an optional description. Press OK

Simply make a post in this thread stating the Title of the book and the Author.

As a general rule of thumb, PLEASE don't just say "Any book by [Author Name Here]" as this request will go to the very bottom of the pile. Also, please be reasonable on the amount of books you request.

You may notice "questionable" subject matter on the drinkmalk catalog. Meaning, there may be books questioning certain religious beliefs or books of numerous religious origins that don't conform to your personal views. You may also see books which might get lumped into "conspiracy theory" catagories that you don't associate with. Basically, you may come across books which are not "main stream".

If you write asking to have these books removed, your requests will likely go unanswered/ignored. There are several items that the maintainers of drinkmalk.com don't personally identify with but still host, as to be as impartial to our readers as possible. Anything that you may find offensive, you are free to skip over. Please remember that this goes for EVERYONE frequenting our catalog.

That being said, we will not include any materially that is "illegal" (ie, just-plain-wrong). These include things such as anything having to do with promoting racial violence, illicit acts with minors, etc. It's pretty much at the discretion of the maintainers as to what is "good" and "bad", but the "bad" column is pretty short. If you absolutely must email the maintainers of drinmalk, we will read your email, but in most cases (unless your argument is extremely persuasive) will not act upon it.

How To Add a Book to Your Catalog

• You must be a registerd user of this site (drinkmalk.com) and be logged in
• Head on over to the List of Hosted Books and click on any of the books you want to add to your catalog
• At the bottom of the post for that book there is a link that says "add to favorites", click it.
• That is all

Why does my book not show up in the catalog INSTANTLY?
Due to the way the user catalog system is administered, the catalog isn't updated automatically. There is a 1 hour refresh cycle in effect. Every hour the catalog is updated and any changes (additions and removals) are put in place at this time. I realize that this is somewhat irritating, but .... that's the best way I could implement it.

How many catalogs does a user get?
At this point in time, only one catalog. And they are all generically named as "User's Book List". Perhaps in the future you can have more than one catalog (such as a "Recommends" -and- a "Current Reading List").

I don't want to have a Custom Catalog anymore, how do I remove it?
Once you are logged into drinkmalk.com, look on the right-hand side of the screen. If you have any books marked as "Favorite" there will be a block that says "Favorites" and a list of your favorite books. Simply click the "remove from favorites" link for each book. Once all books are removed, you will no longer be listed in the Users' Catalogs section (once it is updated, of course).

There is a 10-book-per-day download limit instituted. This means exactly what it sounds like. Every day you are able to download 10 books. At midnight, server time, you will be able to recommence downloads.

IF YOU HAVE A MULTI-USER HOUSEHOLD: Please be aware that if several people in your family/neighborhood/dorm use your wireless and use Stanza regularly and download several books at a time THEN this can count against your downloads as well. For instance, my wife and I share the same wifi, we also both use Stanza and we both use my catalog, therefore if she downloads 5 books, I can only download 5 books in that day.

This was put into place because MANY people where abusing the site and downloading the entire catalog in one shot. This cause a lot of down-time for the site, and made a lot of users (and maintainers :) ) sad.
